Rockport Ontario 11 x 14 oil on panel, plein air. I stood up above the gift shop entrance to Andress Boatworks and Marina. The rocks I was standing on are the same ones I climbed as a kid when my dad took me there. It`s a unique view vs always street level. I will be back in town next week but I don`t know what day. I will look for another place to paint as there are many. Perhaps out on fish rock, or the public dock looking towards the Marina. Spent time yesterday and today in Rockport Ontario painting from an elevation above the street. Working under a big shade tree was a benefit, and problematic. Colors aren`t so true. Rockport Ontario. A while back I was walking to Andress Boatworks. It was a sunny day, causing my artists eye to see the pattern of darks shadows combined with the large tree. Looking up the street, the barn and cars light up. I have always looked at this reference thinking it would become something. After a few sketches, I replaced the cars with a Lyman outboard. I did the painting as a demo in late June. It`s larger than what I have been doing and realized that I enjoyed the extra space.
